This week, I’m making chocolate cupcakes and am decorating them for a pumpkin-carving party. I used the recipe on page 152 for the chocolate cupcakes. This was a mess! The batter was so runny after the 3/4 cup warm water was added and it flung wet batter everywhere! AND I’m realizing how bothersome it is to rotate the cupcakes 1/2 way through the cooking time! Two cupcake pans side-by-side makes it a bit dificult to rotate them. All I can say is Betty Crocker never makes me rotate the pans and everything turns out just fine.
So, don’t tell Martha but I’m totally using Pillsbury frosting instead of making it from scratch this week.
A perk to baking on a Sunday morning, though, is the Degrassi reruns. Perfect Canadian drama for background noise while mixing and measuring.

Ok…so that’s the ugliest pumpkin I’ve ever seen but I have a lot more cupcakes to practice on. It’s just really hard to use the canned frosting with the tip on it for details!

These are the most van-tabulous cupcakes I have ever had. Thanks for the recipe.
