I love the combination of pumpkin and chocolate! For example, with the pumpkin bread I made the other night, I turned it into bread pudding, made with milk, sugar, eggs, and chocolate chips! Yummmmm.
Here’s a super easy recipe for pumpkin swirl brownies. I was inspired by Martha’s much more complicated recipe. Basically use your favorite brownie mix and follow the directions on the box and add a few more special ingredients…
Ghiradelli chocolate brownie mix (which calls for:)
one egg
1/3 cup water
1/3 cup apple sauce (instead of oil)
Mix and spread into brownie pan. Then…
mix together:
One can pumpkin
1 tbs plus 1 tsp apple sauce
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
Dollop on top of the chocolate brownie batter and either spread thin with a knife or swirl into the brownie batter with a knife.
So easy and so yummy. Bake at 325 for appx 45 min.
Looks kinda like a tiger! And as you can see I couldn’t wait to take a bite (or three!).
