I’ve said it many times in the past: I love chocolate, coconut, and almonds…hence, I love Almond Joys. I’ve heard that it is actually unusual for a kid to consider that one of their favorite candy bars, which just means to me that some poor kid’s parents are hoarding the Almond Joys and letting the kids eat the lesser candy bars (how selfish). Well, here’s a way to share Almond Joys with the whole family and maybe not feel so guilty about it, because it’s actually a hearty breakfast (or, continue to hoard…I won’t tell)!
~In a microwave safe bowl, cook the oats and water until it’s the consistency you like, being careful not to boil over (my microwave is high power, so I turn the power to 80% and cook for 1 min 15 sec; but I know some microwaves take up to 5 min on medium power for old fashioned oats).
~Remove from microwave and stir in the rest of the ingredients and top with the toppings! Enjoy!
Strike up a conversation: Have you ever made a healthier version of your favorite candy bar?
Yum! I’ll have to try this. I, too, was an Almond Joy-loving kid.
A true soul sister 🙂

Melissa, that is awesome!! Sounds like the Almond Joy Oatmeal on my site! That one was a HUGE hit! I actually think it’s in my top 10 ever viewed posts! 🙂

Oh wow! Great minds! I’ll have to go check it out now!
This looks really really good. You have to sit down and eat it very very slowly. 🙂
