Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know about a few new snacks that have come out lately.
1. The Larabar Uber Bar: This new bar from Larabar is different because it strays from their traditional formula, which results in a chunky fruit and nut bar. I really like it, too! There are four flavors, two of which fall under the 200 calorie mark, which means they get my stamp of snack approval! I love the Apple Turnover flavor and the Cherry Cobbler flavor, because both of them are riddled with dried fruit and nuts, and held together with a touch of honey and brown rice syrup. (Gluten Free)
2. CLIF Bar’s Kit’s Organic Bars: This is a whole new line from CLIF bar that I’m really hyped about. They follow the same nuts and fruit simplicity of Larabar, but they taste and feel more like a rich and fluffy brownie. I absolutely loved the Chocolate Almond Coconut flavor and I think it saved my entire day when I found myself hungry and in the middle of a never-ending road trip. The Cashew and Berry Almond flavors were also extremely yummy. I loved that all of the bars clocked in at/under 200 calories, making them an easy snack. I bet these would taste so fabulous warmed up just a tad in the microwave! (Gluten Free, Vegan)
3. CLIF Bar “Gary’s Panforte”: This is the newest flavor from the original CLIF Bar line. It has 260 calories and 5 grams of protein. I find the original Bars most apt when I have forgotten a meal or if I’m playing “calorie catchup” in the evening after a workout (if you don’t worry about this, then you’re probably lucky 🙂 ). I don’t consider this bar appropriate for a snack, simply because it surpasses my snack bar calorie-allotment. Besides that, this is an interesting new flavor (it’s their anniversary flavor). Unfortunately, I didn’t like it simply because I don’t like spicy ginger in any way. I’m sure that if you like fruit cake and Italian treats that are packed with crystalized ginger, you’ll love this. (Vegan)
