The other morning I was making pancakes for my boyfriend, and he drenched them in maple syrup. Upon thinking about it, I was never one for a ton of syrup when I was a kid (it shouldn’t come as a surprise but I couldn’t stick to one flavor to save my life, so I loved spreading different jams on my pancakes), so I’ve never really appreciated maple until recently.
Maple Glazed Almonds and Cashews
I’ve started being really drawn to things that are maple flavored or maple scented; so you could say I’ve gotten bit by the maple bug, and I’d like to start spreading it to you too!
This is a super simple and quick recipe (literally done in 5 minutes!), and using 100% maple syrup, it’s all natural. Plus, it makes a super adorable gift if you package it in little cellophane bags or little jars!
Maple Glazed Almonds and Cashews
1 cup raw cashews
1 cup raw almonds
¼ cup pure maple syrup
¼ tsp. salt
¼ tsp. cinnamon
~Spray your skillet (I used a stainless steel skillet for this) with nonstick spray. Over medium heat, combine the nuts, maple syrup, salt, and cinnamon in the skillet. Use a silicone spatula to stir the nuts and syrup for 3-5 min, until the syrup becomes thick then candies over the nuts.
~Spread the nuts onto a piece of wax paper or parchment on the countertop until cooled. Package in airtight containers for adorable gifts, or enjoy them as an occasional snack!
Strike up a conversation: Am I the only person who didn’t love maple syrup as a kid? Did anybody else drench their pancakes and waffles in something alternative?

I love maple syrup! When I was a kid, my parents had jam so that’s what I ate with my pancakes.

I’m so excited that I’m not the only one who put jam on her pancakes as a kiddo 🙂

You’re not the only one – I’ve met a few freaks over the years who don’t like maple syrup.
