So, how have you been recently? Still working out and working towards those realistic goals you set on New years? Not beating yourself up too badly yet? Good!
I’ve been really liking having a new workout plan and food plan to follow lately. I like having someone else plan my weight workouts and then being responsible for my cardio on my own.
Plus, I’ve been feeling a sense of relief. Like I have a team on my side and it’s not just me myself and I working on my diet and exercise. Having a trainer has taken a burden off my shoulders…while placing a giant weight there (ha ha ha).
I’ve been eating mostly just meat/lean protein and tons of veggies, so I feel like I’m really resetting my whole system. It’s kind of like a cleanse for my appetite, and my body is learning to adjust to having more set meals (which has always been hard for me since I’m a more “snack all day” person). All is well so far…now, we just wait for visible results!
The Sweaty Breakdown:
Friday (1/4/2013): This was my first workout with my trainer. I did an introductory total-body weight routine and could feel my sore abs for days! I started my new eating style today too (I detest the word diet because it suggests an end point…I like making life long healthy habits).
Saturday: Today I did one hour of cardio. I hiked treadmill “hills” and varied the speed and incline.
Sunday: Another hour of cardio, this time on the bike! I can’t do the same thing two days in a row (boring!).
Monday: I woke up for an early morning workout before work. I did an interval workout on the treadmill from a previous SELF magazine! It’s called the “Calorie Torcher”. In the evening, my fiancé and I took a nice half-hour power walk around the city of Memphis.
Tuesday: Rest!!
Wednesday: I worked out with my trainer today, focusing on legs and abs!
I’m meeting with my trainer to work my arms and upper body today (Friday) and I’m excited to wrap up this week’s circuits! Then…start all over!

I really want to keep staying active, so I have been biking instead of using public transit. I have also started a new weight training program, 4 days a week. So far, so good!

I have a little pack of Energy Bits that I need to try! I’ve been MUCH more active in my running lately, but keeping my energy up for afternoon workouts after teaching all day can sometimes be tough, so it is hard for me to want to lift or do any weight training. I wish I could afford a trainer some days, because I had one in Texas for a little bit and always felt SO pushed and inspired after my sessions!
