This week flew by! And its been an exhausting whirlwind.
My massage last Friday made me realize that I need to take some time every now and then to just relax and distress. It was so painful to have this small, friendly girl dig her elbows into my shoulder blades, but it was so worth it. A whole hour, laying in a peaceful place, having someone work the pain out of my muscles (PS it really was terribly painful because I had worked such a large knot into my left shoulder blade that I could barely lift that arm before I went in. Now its totally pain free!). I’m definitely going to make an effort to make hat a regular part of my healthy routine.
I spent the rest of the week in a cloud. Not a good cloud. Not a cloud of buttercream or a cloud of sunshine and flowers…
A cloud of allergy-induced sinus pain, muscle weakness, and brain-fog. Ugh. Stupid weather. But, I took my Tuesday rest day to hit the sack extra early and tried to make the most of my Wednesday workout (and even did some extra cardio afterward).
Well by the time you read this I’ll be well on my way to St. Louis. I’m taking a quick trip to spend some time with my parents , shop for wedding shoes, and brainstorm wedding invitations and décor ideas with my mommy.
I hope you all had a lovely Valentine’s Day!
PS I saw this quote and it really stuck with me:
“If you don’t live your dream, someone else will hire you to live theirs.”
The Sweaty Breakdown:
Saturday: 1 hr cardio – I had to break up my cardio (funny story…I had an allergic reaction to a pre-workout drink mix…ok, maybe it wasn’t very funny) 15 min elliptical, break then 15 min elliptical, 15 min bike, 15 min treadmill
Sunday: I was so sore from my Friday workout and massage that I absolutely had to take an extra rest day today. Just gotta do it. No shame.
Monday: early morning HIIT “Furnace Stoker”
Tuesday: rest day – wasn’t feeling good at all ever since I finished yesterday’s HIIT, so I took a much-need break
Wednesday: arm strength training workout with my trainer, then evening 35 min on the bike
Thursday: Happy Valentine’s Day!
I hope you all have a great weekend! I have some amazing treats to share with you next week…but you’ll just have to wait and see 🙂
Strike up a conversation: Do you have any big plans this weekend? What was your favorite workout from the last week?
