I’m feeling like I need to update you on my life a little. So here’s what’s going on.
Currently munching on: Cheerios. Dry. Like a 2 year old.
Current conundrum: Did you grow up dipping your fries in your milkshake? I told my fiance that my mom and i would treat ourselves to fresh-cut fries dipped in chocolate shakes when I was growing up. He gasped and informed me that there’s no way that’s a real thing! I told him he grew up with his eyes closed because it is so real. Thoughts?
Current favorite word: Conundrum. See above.
Current fear: Nothing makes you immediately feel like you are on the road to gaining 50 million pounds (suddenly, overnight) like having your wedding dress taken in. In the amount of time it is taking the seamstress to alter my gown, I could easily pack on enough pounds to make the seams pop. Gasp! Cringe!
Current love: These sunglasses I got at the St. Jude run I participated in on Sunday! They’re bright, big, and totally fly! And, they saved me because I forgot my shades that day and I always run races with sunglasses on!
Currently proud of: My run on Sunday! I haven’t done an official race since last year when I ran my second half-marathon! I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to run a race and signed up two days before! I ran the whole thing (I haven’t even run on pavement since last year!), I finished strong, and I am very proud of myself!
Currently feeling the burn from: This interval workout!
And this machine in the gym I just joined!
Current secret life: Nut butter maker. I’ve never told you all this, but I stay up late grinding nut butter in my kitchen. Seriously. I have enough in my house to feed a small army (best fed army ever).
Favorite flavor I’ve made? Toasted Coconut Cashew Butter. I’m thinking I need to start selling it. Thoughts?
Shoot me an email if you seriously want to buy some or if you have any comments/suggestions (and you have to promis not to sue me if you are one of those silly people who is allergic to nuts but insists on buying/eating/choking on nut butter)
Currently working on with FitFluential: FitFluential and Under Armour have teamed up and I’m on board!
Under Armour has a program, called What’s Beautiful! It’s aimed at women. Every woman. And it wants to redefine the female athlete.
When you join, you join an online community of cheerleaders, your peers! You can set a goal for yourself (emotional or physical, big or small) and work towards them. You can find others who have similar goals and join their team, or you can just cheer on other women as they tackle their goals! It’s a wonderful community!
The team I’m on is Team Fabulously Fit! The team goal is to help each other set new goals and to smash PRs (personal records!)! Doesn’t that sound like something you want to do too? You can click here and join our team and we’ll cheer you on!
Remember, big or small, emotional or physical, we all have goals! And we’re all beautiful athletes!
*If you couldn’t tell by the way I worded it, yes, I was asked to start an Under Armour What’s Beautiful team and participate in exchange for some swag. The opinions I’ve expressed are 100% my own and my goals and what I post on What’s Beautiful are 100% authentic and my own.
Treats From The Week (i.e. what you should make for your mom for Mother’s Day):

Melissa says
No joke! If I lived near you, I’d be over there in a heartbeat!
Sarah @ The Smart Kitchen says
I just signed up for the campaign! I am stuck on what my “I Will” is to be, so I’m stalled for the moment, but I hope I can join Team Fabulously Fit. 🙂
Cheerios have been on my grocery list for three weeks. I was suckered into buying the Quaker Whole Hearts because they were next to Life and on sale. Ain’t no shame in dry cereal snackage. [Oh, what’s that in my bag RIGHT NOW?]
Love your secret life. Now that I have to take Nutty Butter underground, maybe we should team up?
P.S. Dipping fries in milkshakes is SO a thing. Specifically Frostys from Wendy’s when I was growing up. However, I have since discovered that they are better in vanilla milkshakes (or vanilla Frostys).
P.P.S. Dipping fries in honey is also a thing. Alongside your chicken nuggets.
Melissa says
YESSSS!!! On everything!!
Ok the Frosty thing is so right!
And the honey thing too! I used to dip my nuggets in honey growing up too! And when I snag the packets of Sue Bee, they still taste like they need to go on nuggets and fries to me!
Girl, you and me, Nutty Butter partners? Seriously, email me. Dynamic Duo.
Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli says
French fries in honey?! Oh I’ve got to get on this! And sweet potato fries in honey would be even BETTER! Omg, I’m drooling on myself! Lol
Heather @ Kiss My Broccoli says
Love, love, LOVE this post!! So full of fun, randomness, and inspiration! I am so proud of you for signing up and running that race girlie! You are absolutely glowing in that pic! Makes me want to get out there and run myself…but I think I’ll stick to tackling the stairs for now…baby steps, baby steps!
Random comments:
Omg, I want that machine!! It looks so cool!!
Honey FTW!!!
You are NOT going to pop a seam! Shut your mouth! Honestly, in the last few days before the wedding, you’ll probably be so stressed out that you’ll drop a few pounds…been there done that…was lucky I was able to hold my dress UP! Lol
And seriously, my jar of “crack” is already half gone! I’ve officially gone into hoarder mode with it! Haha! Can’t believe you’ve been secretly making nut butter all this time!
Jan @ Sprouts n Squats says
That toasted coconut nut butter looks awesome! I’d buy it if they actually would let it through customs to Australia 🙂
The fries in the milkshake thing I didn’t use to do but lots of people I know did so it is definitely a thing that was done when I was growing up.
Your froyo bowl looked delicious and now makes me want to go get some!
