So I had this dream the other night. It was bizarre and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. So, if you’re all mystical and think you know what it means, please humor me and tell me.
Back story: I have a fear of enclosed waterslides. The tube ones. Waterslides are terrible things on their own because the sections where they come together (the seams) are usually a bit of a bump, so you get really beat up as you’re flying down. But enclosed ones? Those are hell on earth.
You can’t make me get in them. They’re terrifying. You can’t breathe, they’re too tight, they last too long…they’re just absolutely the worst thing ever invented. Period.
I will not be one of those moms at a water park, eager to take little Melissa Junior down the tube in her lap. Nope. Sorry Jr., ask your father.
Anyways! The dream, now that you know my utter fear of tube waterslides.
So the dream (as you could have guessed) is that I’m forced to go down tube waterslides. But I’m being forced by a really awkward, curly-hired, overweight young man (I don’t know anybody personally who fits that description).
And he just keeps telling me I have to go down them with him. And the slides are SUPER long! And I’m crying and exhausted and can’t breathe. And yet, here’s another of those darn slides…
Ok, all you mystical dream readers. What does it mean?
My fiancé asked me if I’d been drinking after I told him about the dream.
I wish!
Anyways, on to breakfast! Because that’s the whole reason we tolerate dumb dreams like that, right? To get to breakfast time!
So I made you some amazing Peanut Butter Cookie Oats!
Annnnddd…I topped them with chocolate sauce.
Annnnnddd…a deluge of peanut butter sauce, because I don’t mess around.
You’re welcome! Love you! Hope you slept well! You know I did.
Peanut Butter Cookie Oats with a Chocolate Drizzle
(makes one overnight oats bowl)
For the Oats:
1/3 cup old fashioned oats
2/3 cup water
1/3 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
2 Tbs. peanut flour*
1 tsp. granulated Stevia
½ tsp. vanilla extract
½ tsp. butter extract
1/8 tsp. (or a pinch) Kosher salt
For the Chocolate Drizzle:
1 tsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
¾ tsp. granulated Stevia
1 tsp. water
For the Peanut Butter Sauce:
1 tsp. peanut flour
½ tsp. granulated Stevia
pinch of salt
1 tsp. water
~Prep: Microwave the oats and water in a microwave-safe dish until the oats are thoroughly cooked. Then, stir in the almond milk, Greek yogurt, peanut flour, Steiva, vanilla and butter extracts, and salt. Place in the fridge (uncovered) overnight.
~In the morning, fluff your oats with a spoon. Mix up your sauces in separate dishes (just put all of the ingredients to each sauce together, stirring carefully until fully incorporated). Drizzle the chocolate sauce on top of the oats, then pour the peanut butter sauce on next. Enjoy!
~Want a little something extra (hey, why not?)? Dollop on a bit of creamy peanut butter. I dare ya. Enjoy!
*I ordered my peanut flour from iHerb! It’s a really great site and literally has everything you haven’t been able to find in stores! Use code QJT075 and you’ll get a discount at checkout.

I’ve never really thought about it, but enclosed waterslides ARE kind of scary? This, however, this breakfast looks divine. BUTTER EXTRACT IN EVERYTHING!!!!
OK. Maybe not everything.

I read somewhere that you can’t dream of a face that you’ve never seen before. So somewhere, at some point, in your life, you’ve seen this man you’ve dreamt of!
ISN’T THAT CRAZY? I wonder if it’s actually true!
Melissa says
OMG That IS crazy!! I wonder who the creepy dorky slide man could be?! Haha

Ok, I’m no dream interpreter, but I think I’ve got this one figured out…the water slide represents something in your life that you are fearful of. You always hold back from these because you know they are uncontrollable, unpredictable, and may cause temporary discomfort/pain, even though the ride itself can be exhilarating…a total rush! What in your life are you afraid of letting yourself fully experience because you know that there will be some “seams” (or bumps) along the way? Perhaps that ride could change your entire life, but there is no way to know until you try. Maybe start small…find a “kiddie slide” and then build yourself up to that great big one…whatever that may be. Oh, and or arm floaties (people in your life who can help support you and hold you up once you hit the water at the end) are always a good investment! 😉 Love you! xoxo
