Yes! I wanted to first point out that Treats With a Twist is FOUR years old!
I can hardly believe that I’ve been blogging for that long, but it’s true. On October 10, 2009, I started a blog. Although it has changed a bit since I started it, Treats With a Twist has been become something more than I could have ever imagined.
I have had the opportunity to make wonderful connections, become affiliated with amazing companies, and I’ve had the most dedicated and loyal readers. I’ve made so many friends and I never imagined that I would be where I am today. Thank you all. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading, baking, and laughing with me.
Now! I have a Salty-Sweet Halloween Treat for ya.
You like salty-sweet, right? I mean, it’s why we’re such close friends. So I just know you like it. All day long.
When we think of chocolate-covered whatnots and salty-sweet treats, chocolate-covered pretzels are probably the first thing that comes to mind. Well, I’m one-upping you and giving you something even tastier. Even more addicting.
Hello Ritz, its been far too long.
Yes, chocolate-covered Ritz crackers. The buttery, salty cracker just belongs in a cloak of chocolate, right? I think so!
And what’s not to love about a simple treat, covered in Halloween sprinkles?! Sprinkles are just the most magical thing ever. EVER.
These are the kind of treat that I start making, and as soon as I start dipping and sprinkling, my mind begins reeling with visions of me using them as Christmas gifts (with Christmas sprinkles…and peppermint snow…)! And visions of chocolate Ritz, danced in my head…
But, let’s not get ahead of ourselves! These are perfect for Halloween! Now, go make them. You’ll thank me in, like 10 seconds.
- 12 Ritz crackers
- 1/3 cup bittersweet chocolate chips (60% - or your favorite dark chocolate)
- Halloween sprinkles
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate. I use 50% power and microwave for 60 seconds, then stir and continue to microwave (on 50% power) for 30 seconds and stir until completely melted.
- Dip each Ritz cracker in the chocolate, one at a time, flipping them in the chocolate so they're completely coated, then placing the finished cracker on a piece of parchment.
- After the first six crackers are coated in chocolate, sprinkle them all with Halloween sprinkles.
- Finish the rest of the crackers, sprinkling them with sprinkles once they're coated in chocolate.
- Let them set completely before enjoying or sharing!

I’m not sure if my favorite part of this post is that it is your BLOGDAY (happy fourth) or that I can make these in “about 10 seconds.” [They remind me of the white trash toffee my brother makes with saltines, butter, and chocolate. Which is a VERY good thing.]

Wow 4 years congratulations, what an achievement!! I love reading your blog and can only imagine how many great connections you would have made over that period of time.
Those Halloween treats look great, we don’t really celebrate Halloween here in Australia that much but I wish we did.
