I’d like to talk real life for a moment. Some Sprinkles of Real Life, if you please.
How was your week? Mine was…honestly, terrible. Crazy.
I’m sitting here, drinking a drink that’s incredibly green (I’m loving the Evolution Fresh, Essential Greens with Lime), and I’m taking solace in handfuls of honey roasted cashews from the Fresh Market bulk bins and squares of Voges gingerbread toffee dark chocolate. Not a bad way to drown in self-pity if you ask me.
I’d like to spin you a tale. So it all starts when our dogs, who are the best of pals and love to sleep snuggled up together and it’s oh so adorable, get in a fight. Over a bone. So dumb. It results in an entire evening spent in the doggy emergency room.
Hand over your wallets and take a seat, this is going to take awhile.
The dogs are both fine. It was all an accident. And we paid a hefty bill to hear that all is fine.
That was bad, yes.
Buuuutttt…then my car, my beautiful new Treatsmobile, was broken into. Yes, my window was smashed with a giant piece of sidewalk. I was parked in my apartment’s private parking garage. It’s nice to feel so safe…
I never dreamed this would happen to me. I never thought we’d feel so violated. But it’s terrible. Absolutely awful.
I spent a morning (two days later because that was the soonest they could get the new glass for me) getting a new window. The other half of my wallet was just violated. Nice.
I’ve been in and out of doctors offices for the last three weeks too. Lady doctors, dermatologists, allergists…I feel 100% exposed. There’s no such thing as privacy this month.
So now, I’m going to wallow in my self-pity. I will find a way to turn all of this into a strength in my life. Somehow. And I’m going to watch some Olympics figure skating and House of Cards season 2, read a book (currently Where’d You Go Bernadette?), and look forward to visiting my parents.
The end.
This week I made you Creamy Millet Porridge and some Homemade Herb Mustard.
