It’s 2015! And I know you have lots of fitness goals (maybe?), so what perfect timing for Fabulously Fit Friday!
Happy 2015!! I hope you read my Hopes and Goals for 2015 post…if you didn’t I’ll wait while you do …
Ok now that that’s out of the way I want to share with you what my husband and I have been up to, fitnesswise…
We started the Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide! Yes, that CRAZY 12 week guide with amazing before-and-afters you may have seen all over Instagram! [her handle is @kayla_itsines]
We started on Monday, so as of today we have completed 5 days! And we are so sore! My brother-in-law and sister-in-law are doing it too in Dallas and we all started on the same day so we can text each other and encourage each other through the whole thing (ie bitch about how sore we are).
I swear, by the end of this, I’ll look exactly the same and my husband and his brother will be all ripped. Kidding. Maybe. Not.
SO! I’m telling you this because: 1. The BBG workouts will probably be my subjects of Fabulously Fit Friday for awhile (hopefully 12 weeks!); 2. I will be posting about it on my fitness Instagram (and probably my regular Instagram too) so please follow me and encourage me and tell me my food is pretty; 3. I want you to do it with us! If you were wondering which program you should do to kick off the New Year, then join this one and let me know and I’ll be your cheerleader too! Go you! You don’t have to start at the same time as us to be included, in fact I think even Kayla herself is going to do her 12 week guide starting Monday, so you can join anytime. Just do it! (don’t sue me Nike!)
[I’m hoping to do some Instagram giveaways too, so look out for those!]
Another fitness challenge that started just recently that you may want to join in on is the Tone It Up: Love Your Body Series. This one is a 6 week challenge and should be very positive and encouraging and you will be smiling all the way through it. I totally recommend you join that one if you just aren’t sure about the BBG one (plus, it’s FREE)!
I love both of these options because they can be done from home! You just need a few basic fitness things (and even then, you can find other options or do without them all together). I think you just need some dumbbells, a medicine ball, a step (or a chair or bench), maybe a kettlebell (for TIU), some fitness shoes and a jumprope (I totally fake it and just jump a lot). I collected all of these things overtime and have mis-matched sets; anything works!
(Oh hey, look, I still go to yoga too!)
I hope you all had an amazing New Year’s and can’t wait to see what 2015 has in store for all of us!!
Tell me tell me: what are your goals for 2015? Have you started a fitness program or do you need help finding one?! Let’s talk!
Oh, also, this is really random, but I’m totally addicted to Snapchat! Do you use it? My little brother got me hooked on it because he doesn’t answer text messages anymore (no idea why), but now my friends and I are on it ALL the time. Anyways, if you are on it or you join it and you like to watch other people’s daily “stories”, I fill mine up with random things from my day (mostly cooking) and you can totally follow me: Mking3000 .
xxoo
