Today on this Fabulously Fit Friday I’m sharing with you my favorite AT HOME workout options!
It is absolutely freezing cold outside here and there is zero chance that I will be doing a workout outside or trekking to the gym. I have a feeling you may be in the same boat.
Luckily, I’ve been primarily doing at-home workouts, so I really have zero need to emerge from my house. I even do some of these at work (granted I have a lot more space, privacy and freedom at my job than many people have). So, here are my favorites or things that I know many fit peeps like doing in their homes too. Minimal equipment (because the point isn’t to build a gym in your house, right?).
BBG – I’ve been doing Bikini Body Guide workouts for 8 weeks now! It takes 30 minutes, can be modified based on what you have, and is really effective. My husband is doing it too and has really trimmed up. I love that I can just tell myself “you’re almost done!” through the whole workout. Basically, you pay for a 12-week guide and you follow it. Three days a week, you’re doing fast-paced body-weight exercises in circuits. I love this because if I can’t finish the reps for a particular exercise, I just move on to the next one on the list; just keep moving.
TIU – Tone It Up is my other favorite for at-home workouts. The weekly workout list is posted every Sunday (for free) and you can follow it or pick-and-choose. I love that each of the videos targets a body group and they’re SHORT! Like, 10 minutes. And you can repeat them if you want to, do another one with it, or just call it a day! The trainers, Karena and Katrina, are super bubbly. When I first started doing their workouts a few years ago, I thought “this is going to drive me crazy because they’re not “mean” enough”, but instantly I was hooked. They’re nothing but positive, they giggle and smile through the whole thing (or tell you they’re dying from the workout too), they’re real women (Katrina’s weightloss story is featured on their website if you want to read it), and I just love them. Every so often they host challenges that you can partake in, and the community of women doing them are so encouraging.
Yoga With Adrienne – I’ve only recently starting doing Adrienne’s YouTube videos. She’s really cool. Like, laid back, not hippie-dippy, isn’t super strict. She puts out yoga videos of all different lengths and styles (Need back work? Want a slimming one? Just want to stretch? Legs?). Highly recommend her! I did one of her 40 minute ones (I think it was called “Yoga for Weight Loss” maybe?) and the whole next two days I was sore! That never happens to me with yoga! And then I did one of her calming ones and was just so relaxed. Awesomeness.
Tara Stiles – Tara founded Strala yoga, which is this really organic, movement-filled yoga. She encourages you to wiggle around, mellow into each move and not get stuck there. I love it. At first I wasn’t so sure about her voice (I’m strange about whose voice I can tolerate during yoga…sorry), but I have been doing her “Wake Up Flow” for over a year now and I love it. Here’s the deal: she has a newsletter; sign up for it. I signed up for it and that is how I have some of her workouts for free. Every so often she emails out a free download of a yoga flow and I download it, save it to my desktop, and then I have a new flow to do on a day at home. They’re super short (15-20 min) but really effective because you feel relaxed and calm afterwards. I love it. She also has a YouTube channel, but I’ve heard that some of her workouts can get to be too fast (which isn’t the case for her download ones), so just do what you can.
My workouts! In the past, I’ve posted workouts under Fabulously Fit Friday. They’re every-so-often, so you have to just skim back, but here’s a good circuit workout you can do at home!
I’m really looking forward to some warmth and sunshine so I can walk my restless pups outside too!
What are your favorite at-home workouts? Which are you dying to try?
