A Lindt Truffle Mocha Frappe is my favorite, easy way to enjoy a coffeehouse-quality treat at home. I love the rich, delicious flavor of Lindt Truffles and pairing them with coffee is a no-brainer. Just don’t forget the whipped cream!
I had an extremely eye-opening experience this weekend. My husband and I attended a Postpartum Workshop, which if you’re not really sure what that is, it’s a couple hours of hearing a doula tell you all of the wonderful and not-so-wonderful things you need to be prepared for AFTER birth. Not a birthing class.
I’ll preface this by saying I haven’t taken any birthing classes during this pregnancy. Not because I’m a terrible mother-to-be, but because I honestly don’t want to or feel like I’ll get anything out of them. I’m not trying to be a snot here, but remember I went to nursing school AND I have committed to a birthing method that I’ve read extensively on, so a general class through a hospital doesn’t really add anything to my knowledge basin.
Postpartum planning, though, that could be interesting, right?
Leaving the class, I felt like I was drowning in important information to think about. We had to make lists of family members and friends we truly trust AND like and their strengths (the things they could help us with). Could you ask coworker so-and-so to do the dishes or walk the dog? No? Could you ask your mom to do your laundry or prepare meals? Basically you’re building your secret village.
And you’re also being dead honest with each other about who you don’t want in your house within the first 8 weeks after you have baby. Rule: immediate veto, no discussion needed. Harsh. But necessary.
What activities can you do together to stay connected? Which restaurants can you ask your neighbors to grab take-out from for you? Which neighbors will bring you meals that meet your dietary needs? How often do you like to get your hair done? How many minutes a day do you want to make sure you feel the breeze in your face? Are you suddenly feeling like knives are going to fly out of the drawer, because you may have PPD then…?
Head. Swimming.
There was not enough chocolate in my house once we got home.
It also led to more necessary talking about “me” time and thus lots of unnecessary tears on my end.
Like I said, chocolate fixes most problems in the world. Stellar transition here: thus I have made a Lindt Truffle Mocha Frappe for you. Hooray!
I could have made this a hot drink, but to be honest, it’s still way too hot here and frozen or iced drinks are still the way to go (unless internal heat stroke is your thing).
Lindt Truffles are my FAVORITE chocolates and I love how many different flavors they have. The flavor is rich, the texture is like silk. What I love about adding them to a coffee drink is they add instant rich flavor, smoothness, and sweetness. I used a dark chocolate truffle here, but you can use any flavor! This drink comes together in seconds and satisfaction follows quickly afterwards.
I highly recommend using a high-powered blender, but use what you have (I have this one and this one). This is about immediate satisfaction, remember? And whipped cream. Don’t skip it, you’ll just make yourself sad and regretful later.
- 2 shots espresso OR ½ cup strong coffee, cold
- ½ cup milk (I used unsweetened almond milk)
- 1 Tbs. sweetened condensed milk*
- 2 tsp. cocoa powder
- 1 Lindt truffle (dealer’s choice)
- whipped cream**
- Place all of the ingredients, except for the whipped cream, in a blender. Blend until smooth. Then add a handful of ice and blend again until smooth.
- Pour into a glass, top with whipped cream, enjoy!
- *I use a bit of sweetened condensed milk because it is creamy, sweet, and takes care of texture and sweetness in one hit. If you don’t have any on hand, you can use 1 Tbs of full fat coconut milk and 1 Tbs. of maple syrup (or 1 tsp. Stevia) instead. I buy my sweetened condensed milk in squeeze tubes so I can use just 1 Tbs. and place the rest in the fridge.
- **fat free, full fat, or rice whip all work

I had never heard of a postpartum class, but totally wish I had taken one. Especially the question about WHO do you not want in your house, LOL!!! This frappe looks amazing by the way 🙂

Right?! When she said that, my eyes darted right to my husband hoping he’d know exactly who I was talking about! We filled out the list pretty quickly! Haha.
Thanks Aimee!

I think frappes are a suitable drink no matter what the weather. Here in the UK it’s cold and rainy (what else!) and I’d still go for one of those. Delish!
