Ready for your baby fix? My little love nugget is 4 months old! Let’s do this.
I’m officially that mom that sits in bed and cries at night because her baby is getting so big so fast.
I have so many little things to say about how amazing my little man is. I’ll be upfront and honest: I am exhausted. This baby keeps me on my toes all day long! And he is growing so fast, keeping me nursing him all day long. AND he just happens to be in the throws of an epic nap protest *slash* growth spurt *slash* stick his fingers down his throat phase so I feel like the second I get him into his crib and I sit down, he wakes up! But…
He does so many little things every single day that just light my heart on fire. In the early morning, he wakes up just to eat. He eats basically while still sleeping and likes to take little breaks to open his eyes, give me a smile, then close his eyes again and eat. In the actual morning (around 8), I peek my head into his crib after he starts babbling because he’s awake, and he bursts into a huge grin! He reaches up for me and loves to give me kisses right away. He opens his mouth up wide and pulls my face to him and shakes his mouth over my mouth and my cheek. Oh my heart.
He loves to wrap his chubby little arms around my neck and snuggle on me in the mornings. I just soak it in because he is way too busy and wiggly to snuggle during the day!
Side note: he started sleeping in his own room a few weeks ago and I didn’t realize how badly it would affect me. He was perfectly fine. I was the one up in the evenings crying and telling my husband how much I missed having him right by our bed. And it just hit me that the little stages of having a baby are so quick and you never get them back. Ouch, my heart! Anyways…
I swear this is just the happiest little boy in the world. If you sing him the ABC’s, he lights up. And he LOVES to roll over. He rolls over every time you put him on the floor on his back. He’ll prop himself up with his arms and look you right in the eye and smile SO big. It’s precious.
Bath times are still some of my favorite moments. He loves to sit on my lap in the bath and “swim” after the rubber duckie. And he loves to splash. He cracks himself up splashing the water all around him.
He has these little moments where I swear he’s saying real words. I will maintain that he says “mama” and my husband backs that up. But also, in the car I was playing a Jason Mraz CD, and he started shaking his rattle to the music and as the word “hello” was said over and over in the song, he tried so hard to say “hello” too. Love it!
He also loves to read books. I’ll sit with him on my lap and he is just transfixed by books. He loves the colors and the pictures and to help turn the pages. I’d love to know your favorite children’s books so I can put them on our shopping list!
Ok, so some quick product rundowns that we have been reaching for the most lately:
Still 100% all about the baby moccasins. We wear Freshly Picked.
I love the Ergo and use it every time we go to a store or really anyplace. I bring it with us even when we have the stroller, because he sometimes gets fussy just sitting there and then he calms down when he’s being held close to me. We can still use the Solly too, but a lot of times I need to just quickly snap on the Ergo.
I love the leggings from Zara. My mom raided their sale section and sent me a few cute pairs and we love them. He won’t be wearing them much longer though because it’s friggin hot here now.
Because its so sunny and hot here, I try to put his Babiators on him when we’re out. Right now he actually keeps them on! I think it’s adorable.
I’ve tied his Sophie giraffe to his stroller so he can chew on it during our stroller boot camp workouts. He is chewing, sucking, drooling on everything.
