I’m so excited to be back so soon with another Beauty Favorites post. I am on a post-Sephora VIB sale high. So, I’m going to break down for you what I bought, what I love and what you should totally stock up on or gift to a lovely gal pal this holiday season. This is November Beauty Favorites, so let’s do it…
First of all, remember my wish list? I sampled the Sunday Riley Tidal cream and the serum that comes in that duo I wanted for a week before the sale…and hello awful smell! I seriously couldn’t take it. Plus, my skin didn’t love it, so it wasn’t worth it. So I swapped it on a whim for the Drunk Elephant Hot Date Gift Set and I am SO glad I did. This ended up being my obsession-educing purchase of the lot.
This sampler contains their most popular products, so if you wanted to give them a shot, this is what you should go for. I have been using the TLC Framboos serum at night with a couple drops of the Marula oil and my skin LOVES it. I feel like my skin is bright and happy. PLUS, I’ve had an awful cold (which usually makes my skin look like scary dead Genie from Aladdin and my nose is usually in a state of rubbed-red) but the extra marula oil around my nose and using the serum at night, nobody would know!
I have been using the FAB Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer every morning and haven’t had any dry patches or “winter complexion.” I couldn’t love it more. Plain and simple.
I also grabbed the Drunk Elephant Lippe Balm on a whim. I was totally swayed by reviews. It’s small, yes, but ended up being SO worth it. My lips HATE me in the winter, and so far, they’ve just mildly disliked me while I’m using this. I try to only use it at night before bed and once in the morning when I wake up, because I’m a hoarder, but I really feel like it is so healing and nourishing. My son has taken a liking to it too…which worries me. I need to buy another to hide in my closet.
I grabbed the Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in sunlight and candlelight. After seriously playing with these drops for a good hour in Sephora (I literally pulled up a seat at one of their unoccupied lit mirrors with every color drops in my hand) I walked away confidently with a highlighter shade and a bronzing shade. I ended up picking the more shiny shades, versus matte, because they were more forgiving when I was blending them. So far, I love them oh so much. Like, I don’t think I’ve ever looked more awake and healthy than on the days I put some effort in and use these. Plus, a tiny drop on the back of my hand is all I need to make it work for my whole face. These bottles will probably last me a million years.
For eyes, either I’m doing just some of the Cover FX drops and a swipe of Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir mascara or I reach for one of two palettes: the Urban Decay Heat Palette or the Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette. The Basics one is my favorite for matte neutrals and the Heat is my favorite for amped up warm tones. I have green eyes and more olive skintone, so the reds in the Heat palette work for me. If I had more alabaster skin, I’d totally go for the Naked Basics 3 instead.
Finally, I’d like to drop a mention of the Hot Tools curling wand, which I ended up buying myself for my birthday. There’s a ton of hype over more expensive wands, but I’m just not willing to lay down that kind of cash for a curling wand yet. So, the Hot Tools one, I love. It gets screaming hot, works very quickly, and I swear my hair looks wonderful and never fried. Plus, I have the extended barrel because I refuse to lob off my locks, so my hair is never overlapping on it, which helps me curl quicker. This was an Ulta purchase.
And that’s all for November Beauty Favorites! You can re-read my last beauty post here and the one before that…and just keep going back if you need more ideas!
I think the only thing on my current wish/need list is a new eyelash curler. And I think I’m ready to spring for the Shiseido one, because I’m sick of drugstore ones I toss every year.
This was not a sponsored post, as always. All opinions are my own. I want to know what’s on your list or something new you love!! xoxo
