Easton’s nursery was actually pretty hard for me to put together. In fact, we had half a rocking chair in the extra bedroom up until the final month, because I just couldn’t get my rear in gear. BUT after I started gathering and making things for his nursery, it all came together really quickly and beautifully. Ready for Easton’s Nursery Tour?
I’m not great with themes, but since we used safari animals for Canaan’s nursery, I wanted to use woodland animals for Easton’s. I kept the same color palate as most things I choose: white, gray, neutral tones; and I kept everything very clean and simple. Easton’s room is also still our guest room, so for now he has a queen-size bed in there too, which actually doesn’t bother me so I don’t plan on moving it anytime soon. I’ll also mention, we are living in a rental, so I couldn’t paint the walls like I was able to with Canaan’s nursery.
ARTWORK
Black Friday was my Mecca for the nursery artwork. I nabbed a few flash sale deals and that really helped me keep things within a reasonable budget.
The animal prints are by Ciera Rose (here’s her Instagram and shop) and the buffalo range print is by May We Fly (here’s her Instagram and shop). It was very important to me to incorporate an Arkansas artist into Easton’s nursery, and after meeting Leana and seeing that buffalo print which reminded me of showing Canaan buffalo for the first time, I knew this was the one.
Canaan’s nursery incorporated Gingiber art work on the walls and his bedding, which was our Arkansas element in his room.
The wall hanging was a new art medium for me. I learned how to weave when I first got pregnant with Easton, so making this art piece for his wall was really special to me. Plus, those can get very expensive, so making it really kept the cost down.
I also painted his name sign above the changing table.
The triangle shelf is from a craft store.
These are the frames I bought. You can find the same ones at Pottery Barn too, more expensive but they’ll have real glass.
FURNITURE
The crib is a Hudson crib by Babyletto. We have the same crib in Canaan’s room but in white. It turns into a toddler bed when he’s ready, which gets us lots of longevity out of it.
The rocker is this one, off Amazon! I was shocked by how comfortable it is since I’ve never ordered furniture off Amazon. Totally a good find. You can also find it here.
The ottoman is a pouf from All Modern. It’s the one we bought for Canaan’s room, but now we’re ready to use it in the new nursery.
We bought the same dresser for Easton’s room (can you sense a theme here?) as Canaan’s room since his works so well and will be with us for a long time. It’s this one from Ikea! I used sticky-back Velcro to attach a changing pad to the top.
This is the monitor we chose and like best so far. We’ve had 4 now between the boys so this is our winner.
And that’s it! If I forgot to mention a detail that you’re interested in, please let me know!
